Hi, I am currently a Machine Learning Engineer at Epidemic Sound, where I develop and maintain ML and signal processing applications for music processing. Previously, I worked as a researcher at Doremir Music Research AB and was awarded a PhD degree in Computer Science from the Centre For Digital Music (C4DM) at the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), with thesis on 'Deep Learning techniques for music source separation and instrument recognition'. Before that I received a MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (UFRJ). From 2013-2014 I also spent two semesters at University of California, Berkeley as a master-level exchange student.

In particular, my main research interest is on the realm of Music Information Retrieval (MIR) using digital signal processing and machine (deep) learning techniques. More specifically, I got experience with diffusion models for music adaptation, automatic music rearrangement, music source separation, automatic music transcription and instrument recognition. I have also experimented with traditional methods for audio fingerprinting in my Masters.
